Russia has reportedly invited Palestinian Authority president, Mahmoud Abbas, to visit Moscow and meet with president Vladimir Putin. Russia’s state news agency, RIA, reported the Kremlin spokesperson as saying that Abbas has an open invitation. The development comes at a time when Russia is locked in a diplomatic standoff with Israel over criticism by its envoy of Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s comments on Gaza war and Russia’s policy in the Middle East.
