The FBI, under Kash Patel, has launched an investigation into former director James Comey following a whistleblower’s claim that he used female “honeypot” agents to infiltrate Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign. According to a report by Kerry Picket of the Washington Times, Comey allegedly directed an off-the-books operation in 2015, using undercover agents to target campaign adviser George Papadopoulos. The whistleblower claims Comey was personally involved, assisted by Deputy Director Dave Bowdich and Paul Abbate. While FBI Director Kash Patel had previously stated he would not politicise the Bureau, it is now expected he may investigate past actions targeting Trump within the agency.
