Crews in southern Honduras tackled a wildfire that officials suggest was started intentionally on Thursday, April 3. According to Luis Soliz, a presidential commissioner for climate change and a director at the National Institute of Forest Conservation, the fire started on Thursday near Villa Vieja. Soliz said firefighters managed to control the spread of the fire, preventing it from reaching nearby houses. According to Soliz, the fire was intentionally set. “The starting point has been the same for five consecutive years. Enough is enough!” Soliz wrote.
