Emails show that Trump “spent hours” with an Epstein victim whose name has been redacted. Republicans have identified her as Virginia Giuffre but that has yet to be confirmed. This release is further confirmation of what we have known for some time: Trump’s name is all over these files and that’s why he doesn’t want them released in full.
One cryptic email from Epstein to his right-hand woman Ghislaine Maxwell called Trump “that dog that hasn’t barked.” Some commentators have suggested that the strange description means that Trump could be trusted to keep Epstein’s vile secrets.
“Why didn’t the DOJ release these files? This proves Pam Bondi is a LIAR,” wrote the Call to Activism X account to its 1.1 million followers.
Bondi willingly placed herself at the center of the Epstein scandal by vowing to release the files at the beginning of Trump’s term. She drew headlines when she stated that they were “sitting on” her desk waiting to be reviewed and released. Presumably, she then discovered her boss’s involvement in Epstein’s activities, because her Justice Department released a small batch of files and then insisted that there was nothing more to see. It was also reported that Bondi specifically briefed Trump on the fact that his name was in the files.
“If Trump has nothing to hide, he would tell Pam Bondi to release the Epstein Files like they all promised,” wrote writer Wajahit Ali.
Now that Congress is moving forward with the release of the files, we’re going to finally see what Trump and Epstein were doing together for all those years. When that happens, Bondi’s reputation will be destroyed forever. She chose her political career over justice for Epstein’s victims and she needs to be held accountable.
