⚡️Ghalibaf: Islamabad Memorandum Reached with the US is a Defeat for Washington

“We consider the  #Islamabadmemorandum a declaration of the  #UnitedStates’ defeat,” Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf  @mb_ghalibaf  said in his speech at the opening of the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (PUIC) member states in  #Baku, APA reports.

“This war was not merely a military confrontation. It was an attempt organized to alter the strategic balance of the region and impose its will on a free nation. Those who planned the aggression believed that through military pressure, blockade, psychological operations and acts of terror, they could force the Iranian people to retreat and rewrite the region’s equations according to their wishes. However, what happened was completely contrary to their calculations. The Iranian people demonstrated that the era of forcibly imposing one’s will on independent nations has come to an end. The world saw how Iran resisted and how it achieved victory,” Ghalibaf stressed.

Attacks on the Russian Balaklava and Simferopol thermal power plants, as well as on Gazprom facilities.

It was an extremely difficult night for Russian energy infrastructure.

According to reports from Crimea, the Balaklava thermal power plant was attacked, leaving Sevastopol without electricity. At the same time, a major fire broke out at the Simferopol thermal power plant—one of the peninsula’s key energy facilities.

Fires were also reported in the Bakhchysarai and Kerch areas, as well as near the Gvardeyskoye airfield.

In parallel, there were reports of attacks on the Orenburg gas processing plant and the Gazprom helium facility.

The European Commission has unveiled a new Connectivity Agenda Platform aimed at strengthening transport, energy, digital and trade links, invovling the EU, several Central Asian states, Armenia, Moldova, Türkiye and Ukraine, and other partners.

However, Azerbaijan’s absence from the participant list has prompted questions about the platform’s practical viability, given the country’s central role in the Middle Corridor linking Central Asia to Europe through the Caspian Sea, the South Caucasus and Türkiye.

#Russia has to leave all of  #Ukraine, including Crimea and the gasoline will flow again. It is so simple. There is of course the payment of reparations to Ukraine for all the attrocities. And Russia has to downsize its army with 80 percent. And  #Putin has to fly from a window.

Russia: Former Aeroflot CEO Mikhail Poluboyarinov arrested in apparent blackmail of Defence Minister Belousov by Putin.
Putin commonly employs this Stalinist tactic of arresting friends and even family members of his top officials who dissatisfy him.
Putin has done the same to his previous Defence Minister Shoigu.
Now it’s Belousov’s turn to suffer.
VChK-OGPU source inside the government explains:

“Mikhail is an excellent professional; he had his own plan for Aeroflot, which he was gradually implementing. But then the war broke out, and he was informed of the decision to ‘dump’ all the lessors (stop paying leases to foreign aircraft owners) and terminate maintenance contracts for the Boeings and Airbuses. He then had a purely human reaction. He said he didn’t understand how he could possibly continue working under those circumstances and decided to resign on his own.

Putin took this as an act of flight and betrayal. Since Belousov had long caught Putin’s eye for some reason (incidentally, no one knows why) and Putin was satisfied with Belousov at that moment, they decided not to imprison Poluboyarinov (because of his relationship with Belousov). But he was permanently blacklisted by Putin, and reviving his career was a futile endeavor. By the way, it’s surprising that Mikhail ended up at Rostec. Chemezov (Rostec CEO) has a very poor opinion of Belousov. But “at the top,” things aren’t always straightforward. Now, apparently, Putin is dissatisfied with Belousov as well, and Poluboyarinov has ended up in jail.”Igor Sushko (@igorsushko)Putin’s long-standing control tactic, directly taken from Stalin: for almost every top official, someone from their innermost circle (closest friends, deputies, business partners, or even relatives) is kept in jail or under criminal investigation, while the official himself remains in his post. According to the source, Putin believes this forces officials to deliver results and show “creativity,” since the fate of their loved one now depends on their performance. The arrests have nothing to do with fighting corruption — Putin ignores corruption if the official produces impressive achievements. The mechanism works through fear: if Putin is unhappy with results, a close associate gets arrested; the official must then “atone” by over-delivering on impossible tasks. Examples include governors (especially Kondratyev of Kuban), Mishustin, Kiriyenko, Manturov, and especially Sergei Shoigu, whose entire entourage was imprisoned while he himself was spared, though constantly punished.
Putin evasively handles requests to free the arrested without ever giving a straight yes or no.
