The News And Times Review – NewsAndTimes.org
🇺🇦 Ukraine is effectively moving toward an almost complete military isolation of Crimea, without physically blockading the peninsula. Petro Andriushchenko, head of the Center for the Study of Occupation, highlighted what he described as a fuel crisis for the occupiers, logistical paralysis, and the shutdown of Azov Sea ports.
Key points:
🔻 Occupied Crimea and the Zaporizhzhia region have effectively been left without gasoline, while in Donetsk people reportedly wait in fuel lines for up to an hour and a half.
🔻 The occupation authorities blame Crimean residents for the shortage, claiming they are traveling en masse to the Donetsk region and buying up all available fuel.
🔻 The free sale of diesel fuel has reportedly been completely halted, with all remaining supplies being reserved exclusively for military and municipal needs.
🔻 Traffic along the land corridor has changed dramatically: occupiers no longer risk moving in large convoys, instead splitting cargo into smaller shipments and constantly changing local routes.
🔻 Strikes on Chongar and bridges along the Arabat Spit have reportedly created a logistical nightmare, forcing both civilian and military transport through a single bottleneck.
🔻 The Crimean Bridge has reportedly lost much of its logistical significance: after previous attacks, vehicles carrying loads over 10 tons, railway fuel tankers, and even electric vehicles are no longer allowed to use it.
🔻 Occupying forces are reportedly reluctant to use fuel tankers after Ukrainian attacks. An attempt to deliver fuel from Yeysk to Mariupol was allegedly canceled out of fear of losing part of the port infrastructure.
🔻 The last three railway ferries that provided an alternative connection to Crimea have reportedly been destroyed, further limiting Russia’s ability to supply the peninsula.
🔻 Fuel shortages near the front have reportedly severely hindered the evacuation of wounded Russian soldiers, which could affect offensive operations in the Zaporizhzhia direction.
🔻 Russian tourists continue traveling to occupied Crimea despite strict information controls, but once there, they reportedly encounter fuel shortages, reduced services, and rapidly rising prices.
🇺🇦 Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Armed Forces of Ukraine! 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
